Wanna make money with AdSense?

The first thing you will need to do is get a Blogger.com account. It’s owned by Google and it’s free. After you setup a blog, you can sign up for an AdSense account using your Blogger link.

Okay, so you have created your blog, now what? What I would suggest you do is pick a niche or topic and write a post about it every day for a week. For example, you could write about vitamin water, laptops, mortgage financing, whatever. It doesn’t matter, just pick something and write about it. Once you’ve gotten your AdSense account, place the ad codes on your Blogger template where it’s most likely to get clicked on.

Now that you’ve got the content and ads in place, you’ll need to get people to come to your blog. Keep in mind that you’re not exactly aiming for eBaumsworld-type traffic — just enough so that you can make a few bucks here and there.

Here are some ways to gain traffic to your blog instantly and also over a period of time:

  • Submit article to Digg.com - you won’t get dugg to the front page but being in the queue will get you a few dozen visitors.
  • Submit article to Netscape.com and Reddit.com - same concept as Digg.
  • Submit blogs to directories - do a search for free directories that you can add your blogs to. I recommend adding to 10-20 directories a day for each blog, more if you’re not lazy.
  • Exchange links with other blogs - find other blogs that have the same audience that you have and try to exchange links with them.
  • MySpace - no matter what demographic you’re targeting, using MySpace is always a plus. The fact that they’re filled with emos doesn’t mean they don’t have the type of traffic that you’re looking for.
  • Forums - visit and post at forums with your blog links in your signature. Don’t spam the forums though! That’s bad…

That’s all there is to it for beginners. You won’t make millions of dollars over night but within a 2-3 week period, you’ll be making a couple dollars off a few blogs. The trick is to make hundreds and thousands of blogs. A few dollars here and there adds up when you have a big portfolio. Take this method, put it to use, repeat it a few times thoroughly and you’ll start seeing immediate results.

When you’ve finally gotten the hang of it, start testing out ad placements and different types of traffic. See what works best for you. Keep testing until you’ve gotten the right formula so that you can just do it over and over. It’s that simple!
